Our captains know every corner of the Costa Brava in detail. Paying attention to their recommendations is important to enjoy a different day on board, visiting unspoiled areas and away from the places most frequented by tourists.

Calella

Located in the heart of the Costa Brava, this is an old fishing village, one of the few that still retains the charm it had before the arrival of mass tourism. It offers narrow streets, white houses with tiled roofs and traditional two-storey fishermen’s houses. Located in a rocky area surrounded by small coves.

Llafranc

A town next to Calella, which combines tradition and modernity. It has also been a popular and prestigious destination for years. The bay of Llafranc, its promenade, the port and the Cape of San Sebastián make this small town one of the most appreciated on the coast. Located in an area of sandy bottom surrounded by rock, it also has small coves nearby.

Tamariu

The smallest of the siblings, it is the wildest nucleus located in the north of the municipality of Palafrugell, between rocks and vegetation. Tamariu has a main beach of coarse sand surrounded by two small coves. Its small promenade fills with life when the restaurants specializing in rice, fish and seafood open their doors.

Cala d'Aigua Blava

Its name does not deceive, it is a cove of fine golden sand with a shallow blue seabed. Surrounded by vegetation, its privileged geographical position allows you to see Cape Bagur in person.

El Castell

This is one of the last large, unspoilt beaches on the Costa Brava. Shaped like a crescent moon and surrounded by forest and fields, it has a mouth right in the middle. It offers a large area for easy anchoring for boats of all sizes.

Cala Senià

Situated in the middle of a stretch of rugged coastline, it is a virgin enclave surrounded by pine-clad cliffs and crowned by a small palace in the Empordà style. It has fifteen buoys to facilitate the anchoring of boats in the summer season.

Cala Estreta

It is a group of coves with coarse sand and a modest width, hence its name. In some of its sections the water invades the sand when the sea is rough. Its high scenic value, together with crystal-clear waters, make it one of the most emblematic corners of the Costa Brava. It has an old fishermen’s shelter from the 16th century. It takes a good walk to access it by land, which ensures a low influx of people even in the summer season. It is suitable for nudism.

El Vedell

It is an absolutely unspoilt area, with a land route that is not suitable for everyone, which means that most access is by small boat that anchors off the coast. The cove is made of rocks and pebbles that have been rounded by the action of storms. The numerous reefs that surround it give it a great richness of seabed and it is undoubtedly an emblematic environment, although only within reach of the most experienced.

Illes Formigues

A group of islets that can be seen on the horizon from Calella de Palafrugell, which owe their name to the fact that they are small and numerous, forming a silhouette similar to these small insects. In 1285, it was the scene of one of the most spectacular naval battles of all those experienced on the Costa Brava. Surrounded by rocky areas and reefs, it is an area with an abundance of life, but requires careful navigation to avoid colliding with any of the numerous submerged rocks that surround it.

Cala Pedrosa

Another unspoilt area where access on foot is difficult, even in the summer season, and where there are few visitors. Located under the beautiful cliffs of ‘Puig d’en Frares’, it is a wonderful pebble beach, hence its name. It has a small bar where breakfast and various tapas are served.

Cala Marquesa

It is a completely unspoilt and charming space, formed by a group of coves surrounded by high granite walls. Right in front of the cove there is an islet that protects the waters, giving rise to a variety of wonderful natural pools. Access on foot is not signposted and is not advisable, but it is suitable for visiting by sea and is an excellent place to anchor.

Cap de Begur

It is the easternmost point of the Begur massif, immersed in a natural space that is the extension of ‘Les Gavarres’, formed by small hills that fall into the sea giving rise to spectacular cliffs. It is surrounded by coves with crystal-clear waters; from ‘Aigua Blava’, passing through ‘Sa Tuna’ and ‘Agua Freda’ and reaching ‘Sa Riera’. Without a doubt all of them of extraordinary beauty, but not very suitable to visit them on days of Tramuntana winds due to their exposed geography on the north face.

El Golfet

To the north of Cap Roig, this cove is a combination of a small gulf and an area of steep cliffs that make it an ideal place for anchoring boats of all lengths. The sandy bottom is a spectacle of turquoise hues.

The Russian Bathtub

Located south of Cap Roig, just below the Botanical Garden, this is a beautiful spot surrounded by cliffs. It offers a unique natural bath that Mrs. Woedvosky used to frequent with her donkey to overcome the rough path that led down from her castle located at the top of this magical space.
