At Custom Sailing Costa Brava, we see the sea as a place for enjoyment, but also for responsibility. That’s why, during the 2026 season, we’re launching the Custom Challenge 2026, our own initiative to encourage our clients to collect plastic from the sea during our boat trips.
A simple, voluntary and immediate gesture that turns every maritime experience into a positive action for the health of the Mediterranean.
A small gesture with a big impact
The Custom Challenge is based on a very clear idea:
“Grab the bag. Pick up the plastic. Sometimes later means never. The ocean can’t wait.”
During our excursions we provide a cloth bag so that, spontaneously and without altering the route, customers can collect floating plastics that we find during navigation or at stops in the coves.
It is not a mandatory activity, but a conscious and voluntary action, naturally integrated into the experience.
Why was the Custom Challenge 2026 created?
Plastic waste is one of the main environmental problems on the Costa Brava coastline. Much of this plastic is visible, accessible, and easy to remove if action is taken in time.
With the Custom Challenge 2026 we want to:
? Reduce the amount of plastic in the sea, trip after trip.

? Actively involve those who sail with us in caring for the marine environment.
? Reinforce our commitment to sustainability and responsible tourism.
How the Custom Challenge works during outings
It works very simply:

During the outing we provide a reusable bag.

If the group wishes, they can safely collect floating plastics.

Upon returning to port, we properly managed the collected waste.
All this without changing the itinerary, the pace, or the relaxed nature of the experience.
An action aligned with our Biosphere certification
The Custom Challenge 2026 is part of our global commitment to sustainability, reinforced by the Biosphere certification, which recognizes the good environmental, social and economic practices of tourism companies.
We believe that small, repeated actions have a real impact when they are part of a coherent and ongoing project.
